Lomatium Alcohol-Free Liquid Extract — Lomatium dissectum Dried Root Glycerite
Lomatium (Lomatium dissectum) is a stout perennial of the Apiaceae family, native to the dry rocky slopes, sagebrush steppe and open pine forest of western North America. It grows to about a metre and a half, with finely dissected fern-like leaves in a basal clump and compound umbels of small yellow or purplish flowers. The part used is the large deep taproot, which may weigh several kilograms in mature plants, lifted in spring or autumn, sliced and dried. Dried lomatium root is pale brown and resinous, with a strong balsamic-celery scent and a pungent, bitter taste.
The raw material is ethically wild harvested. Extraction is by classical maceration at the lowest practical temperature, in a base of vegetable glycerin and purified artesian water — glycerin and water are the only solvents. The product contains no alcohol, no added sugar, no preservatives and no artificial colours. Its mildly sweet taste comes from the vegetable glycerin itself.
Every incoming batch is tested in our own laboratory to confirm botanical identity and consistency, using HPTLC fingerprinting and FTIR spectral analysis, alongside microbiological screening, viscosity and refractometric measurement. Quality control is guided by USP, Ph. Eur., ISO 17025 and cGLP standards, and a certificate of analysis is available for every batch. Produced at an FDA-registered facility in Honolulu, Hawaii, and shipped from our EU warehouse.

- A glycerite is a liquid plant extract prepared with vegetable glycerin and water instead of alcohol. The plant material is macerated in the glycerin–water base, then pressed and filtered.
