Cranberry Alcohol-Free Liquid Extract — Vaccinium macrocarpon Dried Berry Glycerite
Cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) is a low evergreen creeping shrub of the Ericaceae family, native to the acidic peat bogs of northeastern North America and cultivated in flooded beds in Massachusetts, Wisconsin and Quebec. Its wiry stems trail along the ground, rooting as they go, with small dark oval leaves and pink flowers whose reflexed petals suggested a crane's head to early settlers. The fruits are firm glossy red berries with air pockets inside, which is why they float and can be harvested by flooding. They are picked ripe and dried. Dried cranberry is dark red and wrinkled, with a faint fruity scent and a sharply sour taste.
The raw material is ethically wild harvested. Extraction is by classical maceration at the lowest practical temperature, in a base of vegetable glycerin and purified artesian water — glycerin and water are the only solvents. The product contains no alcohol, no added sugar, no preservatives and no artificial colours. Its mildly sweet taste comes from the vegetable glycerin itself.
Every incoming batch is tested in our own laboratory to confirm botanical identity and consistency, using HPTLC fingerprinting and FTIR spectral analysis, alongside microbiological screening, viscosity and refractometric measurement. Quality control is guided by USP, Ph. Eur., ISO 17025 and cGLP standards, and a certificate of analysis is available for every batch. Produced at an FDA-registered facility in Honolulu, Hawaii, and shipped from our EU warehouse.
