Yucca Alcohol-Free Liquid Extract — Yucca glauca Dried Root Glycerite
Yucca (Yucca glauca), known as soapweed yucca, is an evergreen perennial of the Asparagaceae family, native to the short-grass prairies and dry plains of central North America, from Alberta down to Texas. It forms a dense basal rosette of rigid, blue-green, sword-shaped leaves edged with curling white fibres, and sends up a flowering stalk one to two metres tall carrying pendulous creamy-white bells. The part used is the root, dug from mature plants and dried. Dried yucca root is pale, coarsely fibrous and woody, with a faint earthy scent and a bland, slightly soapy taste.
The raw material is ethically wild harvested. Extraction is by classical maceration at the lowest practical temperature, in a base of vegetable glycerin and purified artesian water — glycerin and water are the only solvents. The product contains no alcohol, no added sugar, no preservatives and no artificial colours. Its mildly sweet taste comes from the vegetable glycerin itself.
Every incoming batch is tested in our own laboratory to confirm botanical identity and consistency, using HPTLC fingerprinting and FTIR spectral analysis, alongside microbiological screening, viscosity and refractometric measurement. Quality control is guided by USP, Ph. Eur., ISO 17025 and cGLP standards, and a certificate of analysis is available for every batch. Produced at an FDA-registered facility in Honolulu, Hawaii, and shipped from our EU warehouse.
