Kudzu (Pueraria lobata) is a climbing lianoid plant. In humid subtropics often forms an impenetrable jungle and serves as a shelter for birds, insects and snakes. Propagated mainly vegetatively. The plant is perennial, in the second year of life reaches a height of 20-30 m or spreads horizontally to the same length. The roots go deep to a depth of 15 m. The leaves are large, complex. In winter, the leaves fall. Blooms in late summer with inflorescences of fragrant purple flowers. Fruits are beans with six to eight seeds, ripen by October.*
